SB856 removed the WVOIC's annual reporting requirement regarding medical malpractice insurance and removed the reporting requirement of insurance companies regarding civil actions filed against medical providers to the Insurance Commissioner.  As a result of this bill passage, W. Va. Code §33-20B-6 and §33-20B-8 have been repealed in their entirety.  Medical Malpractice claim data is no longer required to be reported to the WVOIC and the claims reporting portal has been discontinued.
