EDI Reporting
EDI mandated FROI and SROI reporting was initially implemented beginning in 2004 when self insured employers began self administering claims. The scope of the mandate was expanded in 2008 to include the private carriers selling workers’ compensation coverage in West Virginia.
Compliance with FROI reporting requirements is required on the date a trading partner begins to provide services and/or write workers’ compensation coverage in West Virginia.
Trading Partners are encouraged to complete SROI testing and be approved for production status by July 1, 2008. A phased in implementation option (July 1, 2008 - December 31, 2008) will be available for those Trading Partners who can not complete testing by July 1, 2008 and have received approval from the OIC to begin submitting SROI at a later date. However, the transmission of SROI data retroactive to the date the Trading Partner began writing workers' compensation coverage in West Virginia will be required once the Trading Partner has moved into production status.
As of January 1, 2009, all new trading partners entering the West Virginia market will be expected to be in compliance with both FROI and SROI reporting requirements on the date the company begins providing services and/or writing workers’ compensation coverage in West Virginia.
