| Question: |
What does it mean when it says they are protesting the compensability of this claim? |
| Answer: |
"Compensability" is a non-word which is short-hand for the decision that the injury (or disease) is covered by workers' compensation and that the injured worker is entitled to medical coverage and lost time benefits (if missed work). So, if the employer is protesting "compensability", that means that the claim administrator has ruled that the claim is covered and the employer disagrees. |
