The mission of the Consumer Services Division (CSD) is to provide assistance to West Virginia citizens who have questions or problems involving insurance. The CSD is the consumer assistance and investigative arm of the West Virginia Insurance Commission and is available to answer your questions and work to resolve your insurance problems.
In an average year the CSD receives over 28,000 inquiries including over 2,000 requests for assistance on a particular dispute. If a dispute arises between the insured and the insurer, the consumer service representative investigates the particular issue, contacts the company on your behalf and attempts to resolve the issue. In many cases we are able to obtain positive results. We encourage you to contact the CSD if you have an insurance problem or need some information. There is no charge for any of the services provided.
