Independent Medical Evaluations

The West Virginia Offices of the Insurance Commissioner (WVOIC) provides a list of Independent Medical Examiners as a courtesy to Insurance Companies, Agencies, Attorneys, and the general public. Placement on this list does NOT serve as a statement of preference by the WVOIC. These providers are trained and certified with using the American Medical Association’s “Guides to the Evaluation of Permanent Impairment,” Fourth (4th) Edition. The Guides are published in the Fifth (5th) and Sixth (6th) Editions; however, the WVOIC has adopted the Fourth Edition as its ONLY measure of whole body medical impairment.
