Effective June 11, 2010, in compliance with WV Code §33-12-12B the West Virginia Offices of the Insurance Commissioner will began licensing Crop Adjusters. For Residents applying for a crop adjuster license, the commissioner may accept certification that the individual has passed a proficiency examination approved by the Federal Risk Management Agency.
Nonresident crop adjusters may be licensed as a nonresident crop adjuster in this state if the applicant’s home state has established, by law or regulation like requirements for the licensing of a resident of this state as a nonresident crop adjuster. Should a nonresident crop adjuster’s home state not license crop adjusters, an individual may designated a home state in any state which he or she has a license. This applies only to individuals whose principal place of residence does not license adjusters.
An individual may be licensed concurrently under separate licenses but shall not act as an adjuster representing the interests of the insured and the insurer with respect to the same claim.
